Just want to remind everyone of our 2009 Simulated Emergency Test coming up on 7 November. We've got a fresh batch of disasters for y'all to deal with. We hope you'll be suitably amused, and properly tested. Our annual SETs, and the bike races we provide comms for each season are, along with our SKYWARN activies, the main ways in which we maintain and improve our skills as communicators.

Final pre-SET briefing will be held during our monthly meeting on 3 November at 1900 in Room 103 of the Science Building at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. Join us if you can for both the meeting and the SET. Talk-in for the meeting is on the K5IIY repeater (147.360 + 110.9). See you there.

You do realize, though, that having a radio crackling on opening day of rifle season constitutes an actual disater, right?

Final details on the SET. Again, we will hold a Simulated Emergency Test on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. We will want everyone participating to be at the Jaycee Park no later than 8:30am for a briefing meeting and to pick up assignment packets. From there all stations will depart to their assigned shelter locations. Roll call will begin on the K5IIY repeater at 9:15am and operations by 9:30am. We should wrap up by 11:00am.

Peacock's restaurant is nearby to where we will be operating and we will meet there prior at 7:00am. Please join us!
